Julie feels lucky to care for our great generation of seniors at Inver Glen Senior Living. A Wisconsin native, Julie grew up in a small town and attended University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh on a music and education scholarship. In 1983, she started working at a small nursing home and was eventually promoted to care conference and family coordinator. After relocating to the Twin Cities, Julie joined Southview Acres in 1999 and has been with Inver Glen since it was just a pile of dirt! As Residence Director, Julie appreciates the vast scope of her responsibilities at Inver Glen. From filling apartments and training staff to spending time with tenants and their families, every day is full of new challenges. Julie especially enjoys having her grandchildren at work with her via the intergenerational preschool. Our tenants, staff and preschoolers keep Julie grounded and she counts many of them as her mentors and dearest friends!

Michelle Rivero received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing from Presentation College in Aberdeen, South Dakota. She worked for several years as a nursing assistant in hospitals, and was an LPN at the Minneapolis VA. Michelle likes working with people, and always wanted to be a nurse. Being a caregiver to others, especially seniors, is very rewarding. She enjoys helping people feel better and enjoy life, particularly those with complicated medical conditions. As Director of Nursing at Inver Glen, it’s very fulfilling for Michelle to know that at the end of the day, she has made a difference in someone’s life.
